SMS......Spoiling the English language or simplyfying it?

That Day when my friend sent me the msg "Im gonna cum at 9pm", I was taken aback. For reason, being a dull witted fellow weren't able to understand the meaning in the first glance and secondly interpretated the meaning of the sentence. Today all of us, including yours truly hardly give a heck for the grammer and the english usage. Everyone, when wanna send a message, just take out the cell phone jam our fingers on the cell phone and send it over as fast as possible.

After inventing the desi brand of english now we are 'SMSising' the language to an extent that Shakesphere himself would have thought of writing back his works in the form of SMS language. Recently during an interview one english professor from a famous university was crying foul over the current SMSisation of the language. Obviously, One cant really expect users to be scholastic and to adhere to correct spelling during SMSing.

We generally use a lot of smileys and emoticons which represent feelings and other important occasions or just used to irritate others. Hence we are generally moving towards communication with few and few words. In October two years back, The Bible of was translated into the SMS version. The Beginning of the SMS verses of the Bible are as follows: "In da bginnin God cre8d da havens and erth. Da ertg waz barren wit no 4m of lif; it waz unda a roarin ocean cuvrd wit drkness". There are in all 31,173 text msgs that can be freely accessed. They revealed that it took a person nearly about 4 weeks to convert the Old and New Testatement into the sms version. Sending the entire bible would take more than 30000, text msgs.
